South Charleston Museum

For many years the South Charleston Museum Foundation has been working tirelessly to preserve the past and present for the future. The Museum has collected, researched and preserved artifacts, historical records, and pictures. Today the dream of a place to display these items is closer to reality.

Since 2004, the Museum has been presenting new and rare West Virginia films. With world premieres of landmark films about our region and state we have attracted hundreds of people to our programs. Many educational programs and events have also been held for school groups.

Other programming includes such things as sponsoring a Belgian Festival, History Alive presentations through the Humanities Council, and bringing Ken Farmer, a nationally known antique expert, here for our Antique Appraisal Fair.

The Museum is currently headquartered in the historic LaBelle Theater at 311 D Street in South Charleston, WV.

The South Charleston Museum is an independent non-profit museum, and a member of the American Association of Museums, the Council of Historic Organizations, and the South Charleston Chamber of Commerce.

Community support is vital to the success of continued programming. Please contact the museum today to find out how to become a Museum member.
